Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

The Hi-Life in Ballard has a Sunday family style fried chicken dinner every week. A big group of us went to check it out and it was pretty good. We all left so stuffed, with left-overs. Also, I don't eat fried chicken skin, so my dining partners seemed to get pretty excited by that.

Free Protein

Uwajimaya is very close to my work, so I often run there to grab a bite on days where I did not bring lunch. They have fresh salads, and I mean really fresh salads. I got to the bottom of my salad and then found a new friend. He was still alive and scurrying around. I know eating a bug won't really hurt you, but I cannot bring myself to get a salad from there ever again.

First Time at Five Guys

Everyone raves about Five Guys, but I was not that impressed. I went to the one in Northgate, and it was just, eh. 

It did remind me of this place back home, Bates. They were the BEST hangover cure. I do sometimes miss Bates' Burgers, and their grilled cheese, too. I'd love a franchise out here in Seattle, but I am guessing that's wishful thinking. 

Franchise Dessert

April and I were downtown, shopping, running errands, etc, and we wanted to grab some food. I am not sure how we ended up at P.F. Chang's, but it was a franchise restaurant type of day. We sat at the bar and had a good time talking to the bartenders, too.

So, this is the dessert we shared, and I have to say, it was pretty decent.

And This is Why You're Fat

Brandon, Laura and I received free tickets for the Puyallup Fair, so we decided to check it out. I had not been to a huge state fair in over 15 years, so I had forgotten what type of people go to the fair. Yeah, it was interesting. But one of those most ridiculous things we came across was Deep Fried Butter. Well, we had to try it. 

Deep Fried Butter is exactly what you think it might be. Rolled balls of butter, rolled in batter and deep fried. The batter was sweet and they dough balls were topped with cinnamon, sugar and a glaze. I opened my dough ball and let the chunk of butter drop out, but it was actually pretty good. Though, I admit, after I felt gross. 

7 Deadly Wing Challenge

April and Brandon are freaking champs. They ate 7 of the Wing Dome's deadly wings, in 7 minutes. Feleke and I tried to do it, too, but failed.

Pickles!

I took the #11 bus from work to downtown, where I had to run some errands. It stops right by the new PotBelly's and I had a sudden craving for a pickle - and so, I got one!

We Heart Bacon

So, we fashioned a grill out of supplies found at a random hardware store and cooked up a ton of bacon. It actually tasted amazing - and the ground did not catch on fire. 

7 Wings

A few of us ventured across the bridge to the West Seattle Wing Dome to try some wings at the Google Seattle event. Here's Brandon before he eats one wing of each spice level, 1-7. 

Bacco Breakfast

It's a good thing I take food shots because I forgot to take pics of anything else today... This is breakfast from Bacco, a restaurant at the market that I've never been to before. Laura and Colin accompanied me.

Dinner, Family Style

April had an impromptu dinner party. Mr. F and I picked up meat from 360, and April curated the rest of our meal. Delicious, as always.

Barrio in Birmingham Tasting

I was invited by The Hungry Dudes to taste some foods at Barrio, a new restaurant in Birmingham.

I took a ton of pics, but this was my fav of the day. It's Hacienda (another place here in Detroit) chips with Verde and Mango Salsa. Delicious.

Paella Family Style

Another family dinner on the roof. Chris made paella and it was absolutely delicious. Oh, he also shucked oysters purchased from the new Taylor Shellfish location in Cap Hill.

Richie Aldente Made Me Dinner

I went over to Richie Aldente's place for dinner, drinks and talks. Richie, Durito and Dick made an amazing dinner.

Dinner at April's

I had a less than stellar day. April, being the amazing friend that she is, told me to come over and she'd make dinner. After that, we painted, which was very relaxing and a great outlet.

Tacos del Dia!

My phone died today, and I forgot to throw my charger in my bag before heading out. I met my friend Valentina (by the way, if you ever need to hire a photographer, she is amazing!) for happy hour at Little Water Cantina and ordered the Tacos of the day! Delicious!

Lola!

Mr. F took me to breakfast today. He chose one of my favorites, Lola, one of the many Tom Douglas restaurants here in Belltown. Delicious way to start the day.

Pretzels!

After a lovely soak at Banya 5, my mom, Mark and I went to Brave Horse Tavern, one of the newer Tom Douglas restaurants, for lunch. For an app - pretzels with three sauces. Amazing.
